The Monte-Carlo TV Festival announces
U.S. Drama and Comedy nominees for TV series

The 49th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival, presided over H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, has announced the U.S. drama and comedy series nominees (designated by the Producer’s Guild of America) which will compete with series from countries around the world.  The announcement was made today by David Tomatis, chief executive officer of the Festival, which is scheduled 7 – 11 June 2009 in Monaco.
 
The U.S. nominees for Drama are Mad Men, Boston Legal and Lost and for Comedy are 30 Rock, The Office and Entourage. The winners in each category will be announced at the Festival’s prestigious Golden Nymph Award ceremony on the 11th June 2009. An international jury representing all creative aspects of television will select the winners. In each category, four Gold Nymphs will be awarded to the Best International Producer, Best European Producer, Best Actor and Best Actress.

Other highlights of the 49th Monte Carlo Festival will be the international television program competition and awards, premiere screenings among which the world premiere film documentary “Backdoor Channels: The Price of Peace”, glamorous receptions and parties organized by some of the major networks and studios which all contribute to the magical atmosphere of Monaco.

More than 300 journalists from around the world are present to cover this international television festival attended by the creative forces of the industry.
